Learning numbers is a skill all preschoolers and kindergartners are taught. Right now at home I’m teaching a 1st grader skip counting (with my cool Catholic Skip Counting Folders) and it occurred to me I could use the same images to teach numbers to my preschooler. Ok, technically he’s 2, and I’m not so much teaching him as I am trying to distract him while I teach my 1st grader. Anyway, I used the same images from my Skip Counting Folders to make Catholic Preschool Number Worksheets!
Your preschooler can learn his or her numbers 1 through 10, using Catholic Symbols. The number and number word are in big bubble letters for coloring in, as well as a Catholic Symbol that goes with that number. Plus, these are free! Yay!
Catholic Preschool Number Worksheets
(For the best results, download the file and save to your computer. Open using a pdf viewing program, like Adobe Acrobat, and print. Sometimes the bubble letters do not print correctly from your browser.)
The symbols used are:
1- One God (image is a cross with the Eucharist) – (not featured in the skip counting folders, because you don’t skip count by 1s)
2– Keys to Heaven (as depicted on the Vatican Flag)
3– Shamrock, famous for Saint Patrick using the 3 lobes to describe the trinity
4– Gospels, the four gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
5– Crucifix, the five wounds of Jesus on the cross
6– Lilies have 6 petals and are the symbol for purity
7– Immaculate Heart of Mary, often shown with 7 swords for the 7 doulas of Mary (I also drew 7 roses on them)
8—a harp/lyre with 8 strings
9– Nine choirs of angels
10—Ten commandments
Thanks for visiting! I hope these coloring pages bring some faith to your preschool numbers teaching!
