Do you want a printable bush to ‘burn’ when teaching about Moses? Here’s a printable one for free.
There are maybe a million ba-gillion burning bush crafts out there- and lots of them are super cute. Sometimes I like collecting construction paper, tissue paper, stickers, scissors, glue and making something really cute. But sometimes I JUST WANT TO PRINT SOMETHING AND DO IT! After an excruciating 5 minutes of looking for a printable bush online, I gave up and just drew one.

There are lots of great ways to use this (listed from easiest to more difficult IMO)
- Color it with crayons/pencils and draw fire on it
- Color it with crayons and use watercolors to make the fire (like a water resist)
- Paint the whole thing
- Paint the whole thing and do the fire with drops of paint and straws to blow it around.
- Color it and use your fingers to dot some flame colored paint on it.
- Cut out small pieces of tissue paper and glue it to the bush.
- Color, take it outside and catch it on fire
Ok I’m joking on that last one. But really, it’s just a picture of a bush- nothing fancy, so use it however you want to while you’re teaching about Moses. We went with option number 2.
Color it really well with crayons.
Paint over it with watercolors. The watercolors won’t stick to the crayon.
Get it? The fire did not consume the bush.
In case you’re wondering, we used this in Week 5 of the Year 2 Cycle of Catholic Schoolhouse. I read the chapter about Moses being called by God through the burning bush in our Children’s Bible . We colored and painted this bush I drew and then we watched The Prince of Egypt. I love homeschooling.
Thanks coming!
